Regularly checking your battery will keep it healthy; keep the battery clean, especially the terminals and avoid storing it in either extremely hot or cold temperatures.
How long your mobility battery will last depends on several things: how it is stored, how often it goes through the charge/discharge cycle, and how much it is discharged (batteries that are discharged too much may be damaged), we estimate a battery should last around 2 years, but this can be much longer or shorter.
How far your scooter can travel will depend on:
- The weight of the scooter or user
- Tyre pressure
- If the temperature is above 35oC or below freezing
- Starting with a low charge on battery
1. Never let your battery go flat
2. Charge after every use (overnight if you only use it occasionally)
3. When storing give it a charge and keep disconnected from the scooter, charge once a month
4. Don’t turn off the charger before the battery is fully charged
5. Disconnect the charger from the battery and scooter after charging
If your battery gets wet whilst out and about, be sure to dry it as soon as possible. It is also a good idea to keep the battery clean at all times.
