To help increase your swing, spread your stance a little. This will help to increase the length of your swing and improve your ability to drive the ball further.
Place your Tee 4 inches from your left heel, raising your Tee suggested previously, it will help give your ball a bit more power.
Try out different things with your Tee, consider raising it to an inch higher than you would normally place it. It will give your ball a little more power than normal.
You’ve just lined up your shot, about to make the best one you have ever made and some shouts, or there is another distraction. The pros recommend that at this point you step away from the shot and start lining it up again when the noise has settled. That way, you will make sure that the distraction hasn’t affected any of your positioning; easily overlooked if you have already gone through all the alignment!
Paul Hogan once said that he wanted to be the man known for hitting the ball the straightest with the short irons, not the man who hit the longest! This is a very valuable tip, when using the 8 iron, the 9 iron and the wedges practice hitting the ball straight without worrying about it being a long shot.
When lining up your shot, line up the club face before you position your body. Simply find a feature/landmark etc a few yards in front of your club to take the line with and align your club behind your ball to this feature.
Not all shots are aimed at the flag pole. To help yourself target it better align yourself with a key feature either above or above the flag pole instead. This will help you land that perfect shot
To help improve your grip, consider this: Once you have your hands in place, move the thumb of the left hand up the shaft by about a 1/4 of an inch. This will help give you a firmer grip.
The best grip is where the back of your left hand and the palm of your right will be facing where you are targeting.
A putt that is struck with enough force to carry it past the hole by 18 inches has the best chance of going in. You only need to sort out the other ways you can miss (left, right, short, long)!
In a regular game of golf, every shot counts with the lowest score winning. However, in matchplay tournaments, it is winning holes that matter. Because of this, it becomes very tactical.
The lowest score on each hole wins that hole, and the person with the most amount of holes wins.
On the putting green (and only there) you can lift your ball for any reason. However, you must mark the ball’s position. But what are the reasons why you would lift your ball?

- To line up the ball’s graphics with your putting line
- To move the ball out of the way of another play or to prevent it from distracting them
- When another player asks you to
Correctly marking the ball’s position

- Pick the ball up but make sure that the marker remains in place.
- Put the ball back directly in front of the marker
